Welcome to CueCart
What CueCart is, who it's for, and the handful of ideas that make it tick.
Getting Started · Updated 2026-06-30
CueCart is a broadcast-grade audio cartwall for Windows — a grid of pads that fire your preloaded audio the instant you hit them. Stings, beds, jingles, drops, sound effects, music: one tap (or one key) and it plays, with no spin-up. It's built for live, time-critical work where "almost instant" isn't good enough.
Who it's for
- Radio & broadcast — jingles, beds, news carts and show opens.
- Live events & front-of-house — walk-ons, stingers and playback cues.
- Theatre & stage — sound cues fired on the line.
- Houses of worship — service playback and transitions.
- Podcast & streaming — drops, idents and segment beds.
The ideas behind CueCart
A few concepts run through the whole app. Once these click, everything else follows:
- Set — your show, saved as a single
.cuecartfile. It holds all your banks, cues, colours and settings. Open one and you're ready to play. - Bank — a named page of pads within a Set (for example Jingles, Beds, Music). You arrange your show across banks and switch between them live.
- Cue Pad — a single pad that plays one audio clip. It carries its own name, colour, volume, fades and playback behaviour.
- Library — CueCart's internal organisation of your media, kept separately from how the files happen to sit on disk.
- Package — a portable
.cuecartpkgthat bundles a Set and its audio, so you can move a whole show to another machine.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- An audio output device — your built-in output is fine to get started; a dedicated audio interface gives you the lowest latency and headphone cueing.
That's it. CueCart plays fully offline — your sets and audio never leave your machine. (Activating your licence and checking for updates are the only steps that use the internet.)
Where to next
