Audio processing

Choose an app-wide processing preset and understand the Master and monitor paths.

Open the Settings cogwheel at the bottom of the navigation rail, then Audio → Processing. The preset is an application setting: it remains selected when you open another Set and is saved between sessions.

Processing presets

Choose from six built-in presets:

  • Off — bypasses AGC and compression; the Master safety soft-clip still runs.
  • Clean — gentle 2:1 compression with no added preset input gain.
  • DJ — +3 dB Cue Pad input gain and 2:1 compression.
  • Party — +3 dB Cue Pad input gain and 2.6:1 compression.
  • Radio — +6 dB Cue Pad input gain and 9:1 compression.
  • Office — +6 dB Cue Pad input gain and 6:1 compression with a soft knee.

Your per-cue volume still contributes to the pad balance. Listen at the intended show level after changing a preset; processing does not replace checking your mix.

What gets processed

The preset's input gain applies to the Cue Pad mix. The programme sources combine on the Master path, whose dynamics run in this order:

AGC → MASTER level → Compressor → Safety soft-clip → Master output

AGC is a slow level rider. The Compressor controls peaks after Master level. The final soft-clip bends high peaks toward its ceiling rather than allowing hard clipping on the Master path.

Headphone and matrix sends have separate routing and bypass the Master-bus AGC, compressor and soft-clip, but Master gain still scales them. Their level is not guaranteed by the Master processing preset. Use the Mixer and Audio routing to balance programme and headphone levels.

The parameter cards describe the chosen preset and are read-only.

Normalisation

The six built-in presets in 1.3.3 do not apply offline loudness normalisation. The per-cue Normalisation option and loudness parameters may still be visible, but enabling that cue option does not turn normalisation on under these presets. Use cue gain, channel levels and the processing preset to balance your sources.
