Audio setup

Choose output devices, tune the buffer, and configure Master and headphones.

Open the Settings cogwheel at the bottom of the navigation rail, then Audio. Device, Routing and Processing group the audio controls.

Device, sample rate and buffer

Choose the Windows Audio (WASAPI) device you intend to use. A dedicated interface can provide separate programme and headphone outputs. Match the sample rate to your interface; 44.1 or 48 kHz is typical.

A smaller buffer reduces latency but leaves less processing time. If you hear clicks or dropouts, increase the buffer one step and check again under your expected workload. See Troubleshooting.

Master and headphone routing

Use Audio → Routing to configure Master, headphones and any matrix outputs. Choose outputs that match the physical connections you are using.

Dual-Mono sends mono Master to one side of a stereo output and mono Phone to the other. It requires suitable cabling to separate the feeds; ordinary stereo headphones will hear the two different buses in different ears.

The Mixer contains the MASTER, CUE PAD and PHONE level controls. Phone provides a separate headphone trim, but MASTER also scales the headphone and matrix buses. Setting MASTER to zero silences headphones too. See Mixer.

Listening ahead on a DJ deck

Enable the deck's headphone button to route it to headphones instead of Master. Other programme sources can continue on Master while you prepare that deck. Disable the button to return it to the programme mix.

Cue Pad routing is separate: Set, Bank and Cue Settings can choose the cue's output and an additional headphone send. Check the effective routing before assuming a pad or deck will be heard by the audience.

Processing and level balance

Audio → Processing offers Off, Clean, DJ, Party, Radio and Office presets. The choice is app-wide. Cue Pad preset gain and Master dynamics have different roles, and headphone/matrix paths bypass the Master dynamics.

The built-in presets in 1.3.3 do not apply offline loudness normalisation. Balance sources with per-cue gain and Mixer levels, then check the result with the appropriate meters. See Audio processing.
