Drag & drop
Move audio anywhere — cues, the deck, the playlist and the library all connect with a drag and a modifier key.

CueCart is built to be moved around by hand. Almost anything can be dragged almost anywhere — a cue onto the deck, a library track onto a pad, a pad to a new slot — and a single modifier key (Ctrl) tells CueCart you're moving an existing item rather than importing a new one.
Plain drag = import
Drag an audio file straight from Windows Explorer onto a pad, the Media Library, or the DJ Deck and it's imported and dropped in place. No modifier needed — a plain drag from your files always brings new audio in.
Ctrl-drag = move it somewhere else
Once audio is already inside CueCart, hold Ctrl while you drag to send it to another surface:
| Drag this | Onto here | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Ctrl + a cue | the DJ Deck | loads the cue's track on the deck |
| Ctrl + a cue | the DJ playlist | queues the cue's track on the deck |
| Ctrl + a library track | a pad | assigns it to that cue pad |
| Ctrl + a library track | the DJ Deck | loads it on the deck |
| Ctrl + a library track | the DJ playlist | queues it on the deck |
| Ctrl + a playlist row | a pad | turns a queued track into a cue |
Rearrange and clear pads
- Ctrl + Shift + drag a cue → another slot — move the cue to a different slot.
- Ctrl + Alt + click a cue — remove it from its slot. CueCart confirms first, so an accidental press never drops your work.
Where to next
- Cue Pads — load audio and read a pad at a glance.
- The DJ Deck — the streaming player you can drag cues and tracks onto.
- The Media Library — your organised pool of tracks.
