Getting started with CueCart

Install CueCart, start your free trial, and fire your first cue.

CueCart is a broadcast-grade audio cartwall: a grid of pads that fire preloaded audio the instant you hit them. This guide takes you from download to your first live cue.

1. Install and open

Download CueCart for Windows 10/11 (64-bit) from the download page and run the installer. Launch CueCart and start your 30-day free trial — every feature unlocked. There's no password and no credit card; you just enter your email and confirm the 6-digit code we send you.

2. Add audio to a pad

There are two quick ways to load a cue:

  • Drag and drop an audio file from Windows Explorer straight onto a pad, the library, or the deck.
  • Use the library to import a folder, then drag tracks onto pads.

Supported formats include WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC (.m4a, .aac, .m4b). Let preparation finish before relying on a newly assigned track in your show.

3. Organise with banks

Group your show across banks — jingles, beds, news, music — and switch between them with F1–F12. Switching bank views does not stop playing cues.

4. Go live

  • Click a pad (or press its mapped key) to fire it. By default a pad is in Restart mode, so pressing it again restarts it from the top — use Space or Esc (below) to stop.
  • Alt+click an assigned pad to open Cue Settings for colour, playback, routing, Hot Cues, Stems, loops, sequences and fades.
  • Right-click a playing pad to stop that cue by default.
  • Press Space to stop Cue Pads while the DJ decks continue, or Esc to panic-stop Cue Pads and both decks.

Open the Settings cogwheel at the bottom of the navigation rail and pick your output device under Audio — see Audio setup for device modes and headphone cueing.

Add music and Stems

Show the DJ workspace from the navigation rail to use Deck A, Mixer and Deck B. Each deck has its own playlist. See DJ decks and Mixer.

Set up Stems: leave Download stems now selected during online installation, or open Settings → Stems and click Download Model later. Wait for Stems model ready before preparing tracks. If Models and Storage tabs are shown, the download is under Storage. See Stems setup before selecting STEMS or saving per-cue Stems choices.
