CueCart 1.2.9
CueCart 1.2.9 makes CueCart faster, clearer and steadier: quicker media re-analysis,
better-balanced processing presets, safer multi-instance handling, and easier diagnostics when
support is needed.
What's new
- Much faster library re-analysis — the Database tab now has a Re-analyze media files
action for refreshing stored loudness, trim, waveform and analysis data without touching your
audio files. The work now runs through a bounded worker pool, so large libraries finish far
sooner while CueCart keeps the UI responsive.
- Processing presets are louder and clearer — Clean, DJ, Party, Radio and Office now use an
explicit Cue Pad input-gain ladder instead of quiet inherited targets. The presets are easier
to hear against Off, with the deck and preview lanes kept isolated from the preset gain.
- Fatal diagnostics export — Tools now includes an Export Diagnostics action that creates
a user-sendable support ZIP with recent redacted logs, crash evidence and install
metadata. It avoids raw media, cache data and database files.
Polish
- Re-analysis closes Settings when it starts — choosing Re-analyze media files gets you back
to the main window immediately, so the long-running work feels like an app action instead of a
modal task.
- Playback-Only prompts are clearer — a Playback-Only instance no longer offers to save
changes it is not allowed to write. Save As now takes ownership of the newly written Set so you
can keep editing after making a copy.
- Installer dependency included — the installer now includes the required Microsoft Visual
C++ runtime and installs or repairs it when needed, helping older or customised Windows setups
that do not already have the runtime CueCart needs.
Reliability
- Safer multi-instance audio-device handling — CueCart no longer churns background audio
device scans across instances. Device lists are refreshed when the Settings dropdown needs
them, reducing one source of intermittent multi-instance crashes.
- Bounded re-analysis publishing — decoded results are still published on the message thread,
but the feed/drain work is budgeted so faster decoding does not turn into a UI freeze.
- Better field support after a crash — CueCart now arms crash-dump registration for its own
process and gives support a simple diagnostics package to ask for, instead of relying on
screenshots and guesswork.

CueCart 1.2.8
CueCart 1.2.8 is an audio-accuracy and dependability release — MP3 lengths are now correct,
playback stays trustworthy when your audio device changes, and a new guard stops a stray
right-click from killing a cue on air.
What's new
- Guard against accidental right-click stops — press
Ctrl+F12 to turn right-click-to-stop
off, so a stray right-click can't stop a cue mid-show. It stays on by default, CueCart confirms
the change on screen, and your choice is remembered between sessions. Applies to both Cue Pads
and Now Playing.
- Clearer MIDI connection status — a connected MIDI controller now shows in green, with a
device icon on its Settings tile and a solid green light in the footer that brightens as
messages arrive, so you can confirm your hardware at a glance instead of tapping a key to see
if it's alive.
- Restore-down button on the title bar — a maximised CueCart window now shows a proper
restore-down icon instead of continuing to show the maximise icon.
Polish
- Long lists in Settings and dialogs now scroll — if you had more than a handful of MIDI
inputs, banks in a Set, or saved backups, the extra ones ran off the bottom of the panel with
no way to reach them or their buttons. All three lists now scroll properly.
- Maximise and restore feel native — restoring a maximised window puts it back exactly where
you last had it, maximising no longer flashes, and the button stays in step with Windows Snap,
Win+Up and double-clicking the title bar.
- No leftover frame after closing — confirming a close no longer leaves a stale window frame
on screen.
Reliability
- MP3 durations are correct — some MPEG-2 and MPEG-2.5 MP3 files were reported at roughly
double their true length, which showed up as an inflated duration and a long silent tail on
Cue Pads, the duration readout and preview. Every part of CueCart now agrees on the real
length. Please note: if you set trim, loop or cue points on one of these files against the old,
inflated timeline, those points are re-clamped to the real timeline — worth a quick spot-check
on any affected cue. WAV, AIFF and FLAC are unaffected.
- Playback survives an audio device sample-rate change — changing your device or its sample
rate mid-shift could leave a Cue Pad or preview playing at the wrong speed and pitch, and stay
wrong until you restarted CueCart. Trim in/out points could also land in the wrong spot.
CueCart now refuses audio decoded at the old rate and reloads it at the new one.
- Healthy files are no longer wrongly accused — after a sample-rate change, a perfectly good
file could be reported as "unsupported or corrupt". CueCart now says what actually happened and
only reports a file as damaged when it genuinely failed to open.
- Smarter bank imports — importing a bank now reuses the first empty bank slot instead of
always adding to the end, and jumps you to the bank that just landed. Because only genuinely
new banks count against the per-Set bank limit, imports now succeed in cases that previously
hit the ceiling. Banks that already hold cues are never replaced.
- Faster backup restores — after restoring a backup, CueCart reopens almost immediately
instead of sitting on a blank pause, and the relaunch now waits on the old process directly
rather than a timed guess.
- Safer stops across linked instances — when you run more than one CueCart, an unrecognised,
out-of-date or out-of-group message could be treated as a stop and silence playback in another
instance. Linked instances now ignore anything stale, out-of-group or unrecognised, so one
instance can no longer wrongly stop another's playback.
- Crackling and doubled audio on lower-bitrate MP3s fixed — MP3s saved at around 160 kbps or
below could play back badly from a Cue Pad: a constant crackle at the lowest bitrates, or a
doubled, tearing sound that came and went at higher ones. The same file played perfectly on the
DJ Deck and in other media players, which made it look like a problem with the file rather than
with CueCart. Cue Pads now read these files correctly, whatever the bitrate.

CueCart 1.2.7
CueCart 1.2.7 is a polish and reliability release for bigger shows, cleaner imports, and
multi-instance work — with more banks per Set, a friendlier BSI Stinger layout, Windows
snap support, and safer recovery paths when something goes wrong.
What's new
- More banks per Set — each Set can now hold up to 40 banks, up from 20, so larger shows
can stay in one Set without splitting boards early.
- BSI Stinger banks now import as a 9 x 8 board — 72-pad Stinger banks land in a taller,
more CueCart-friendly layout instead of the old 12 x 6 rectangle, while preserving the
Stinger slot order.
- Sidebar swap control — swap the Library and DJ Deck sidebars to suit left- or
right-handed workflows and multi-instance layouts.
- Windows edge snapping — CueCart's custom window chrome now works with Windows snap
layouts, which is especially useful when running instances side by side.
Polish
- Now-playing timer shows tenths — the toolbar time readout now shows tenths of a second,
like
0:03.1 / 5:20.0 / 5:16.9.
- Cue Pad labels are calmer — short smart-fit labels no longer grow too aggressively, while
custom Cue Settings font sizes remain user-editable.
- Spectrum bars align with pad metadata — decorative spectrum bars now sit inline with the
duration label and playback badges.
- Cleaner multi-instance dialog — the "Set already open" dialog is clearer, less noisy, and
easier to scan before choosing read-only, playback-only, temporary copy, or lock takeover.
- Clearer Settings wording — the Uploads Folder field now shows the effective default path
clearly when you are using CueCart's default media location.
Reliability
- Damaged Sets can be removed from the sidebar — if a Set database cannot open after a
disk-full event, interrupted write, or corruption, CueCart can remove it from the Set list
without requiring a profile wipe.
- BSI Stinger import is stricter and safer — CueCart now requires
.stg files, rejects
oversized .stg files before reading them, and keeps malformed .stg content on the normal
parser error path.
- BSI import commit path hardened — imports at the bank limit and asynchronous import edges
are guarded so failed or capped imports do not partially mutate the Set.

CueCart 1.2.6 is a big update for getting audio in and moving Sets around — bring your
BSI Stinger banks straight into CueCart, share and back up Sets faster, cancel a long export
or import mid-run, and enjoy quicker, steadier media importing throughout.
What's new
- Import BSI Stinger
.stg banks — point CueCart at a BSI Stinger .stg bank and it
rebuilds the whole board for you: every stinger is matched to its audio, laid out on the
pad grid in its original positions, and brought in as a native CueCart bank you own. Missing
or duplicate audio is reported rather than guessed, so nothing lands on the wrong pad.
- Set package actions in the SET menu — export and import Set packages straight from the
visible SET menu, so sharing a show is right where you'd look for it.
- Cancel a running export or import — big Set packages can now be stopped mid-run,
cleanly, without leaving half-imported media behind.
Faster
- Quicker media importing — audio is analysed and staged in parallel through a single,
fused analysis pass, so filling a board with fresh media is noticeably faster.
- Quicker Set sharing — package export integrity hashing and media analysis are faster,
and importing a package's media stays responsive from start to finish.
- Quicker backups — creating a Set backup and verifying an imported one are both faster.
Reliability
- Backup restore repaired — importing and restoring a Set backup works end to end again,
including shows made of multiple Sets, with the "restart to finish" step folded right into
the import dialog.
- Steadier big imports — importing large batches of audio now streams its analysis and
paces itself, so it stays responsive and won't stall, and package imports report their
progress accurately and cancel cleanly.
- Media titles kept on import — the names you gave your audio survive a package import
instead of reverting to file names.
- Media relinked when you open a Set — CueCart re-resolves a Set's audio as it opens, so
pads still find their sound even after files have moved.
- Steadier pad labels & timers — cue-pad titles now scale to fit their pad, and every pad
timer reads in tenths of a second (0:10.0), so short stingers no longer show as 0:00.
- Custom grid fix — pad metadata lays out correctly on custom grid sizes.

What's new
- The Deck playlist scrolls — when your queue outgrows the panel, the track list scrolls
on its own while the header and transport controls stay fixed, so every track stays reachable
no matter how long the queue gets.
- Drag-reorder past the fold — while dragging a track, holding it near the top or bottom
edge auto-scrolls the list, so you can drop it anywhere in the queue — not just among the rows
currently in view.
Reliability

or MIDI Learn; CueCart flags conflicts and keeps each trigger unique across your Sets.
- Per-cue hotkey chords — Cue Pads now accept modified hotkeys (e.g. Ctrl/Shift +
key), with a conflict flag so you never bind a silently-dead key.

CueCart 1.2.2 brings right-click to stop a cue, sample-rate-correct playback
on any device, and cleaner, loudness-matched audio — plus a batch of Library,
deck and MIDI improvements that landed along the way.
What's new
- Right-click a Cue Pad to stop it — an instant stop, right where your cursor
already is. Alt+Click opens that pad's Cue Settings. Left-click still fires the
cue as always.
- Correct speed on every audio device — Cue Pads play at the right pitch and
tempo whatever your device sample rate (44.1 / 48 / 96 kHz), and keep playing when
you switch the audio device mid-show — just like the DJ Deck.
- Cleaner, loudness-matched audio — removed the grit that could edge in on loud
cues, and matched Cue Pad and DJ-Deck loudness to BS.1770 LUFS so levels stay even.
- Bigger, clearer cue names — pad names scale larger, and long key labels fit
their tiles.
- Steadier Deck drag-and-drop — large batches dropped into the Deck playlist no

- Rejected imports, set aside for review — un-importable media collects in a

Media Library
- "Used in" — right-click any asset to see every Set, Cue Pad and deck that uses
it, across all your Sets.
- Clean removal — removing an asset from the library now clears it everywhere
it's used (Sets, the deck, and anything playing).
- Reveal in Explorer opens your original imported file, and falls back to
CueCart's copy if the original has moved.
- "New Set" added to the Set right-click menu.
DJ Deck
- Fade on double-click — double-click a playlist row and the outgoing track fades
out over 2s for a smoother hand-off, with fixes so it always switches to the chosen
track (even with Automix on).
MIDI & control
- Bind controller buttons to actions — MIDI notes (from DJ-controller buttons
and pad grids, not just knobs and faders) can now be learned onto CueCart's actions —
Stop, Panic, Bank select and next/previous, and Deck play / cue / stop. Fixes
controllers whose buttons send notes, like the Hercules Inpulse 200.
- Clearer MIDI Settings — every binding shows whether it's a Note or a CC,
and a conflict badge flags a binding that would clash with a Cue Pad, Bank or another
action — so you never learn a silently-dead control.
- MIDI Learn fix — Learn no longer gets stuck on "Listening…" for controllers you
connect after launching CueCart; inputs are now bound dynamically.
- Cue Pads honour One-at-a-time correctly even across near-simultaneous triggers.
Performance & fixes
- Reliable MP3 import — an MP3 whose length metadata slightly overshoots the real
audio now imports cleanly, instead of being set aside for review.
- The leaner preload engine is now the default, for lower memory use.
- Dropped the redundant "update available" popup and the Check-for-Updates blink; the
footer now shows the real app version; and per-cue hotkey overrides are honoured in

CueCart 1.2.1 adds MIDI & keyboard control — play your whole show from a
controller, and reshape the computer keyboard to fit your hands.
What's new
- Fire cues from MIDI — assign a MIDI note to any cue pad (Cue Editor →
Triggers → Learn) and trigger it from a pad controller or keyboard. Notes are
channel-aware (or omni) and global — they fire from any bank.
- Switch banks by MIDI or key — each bank takes a MIDI note and a learnable
focus key; F1–F12 jump to banks 1–12, plus Next / Previous and

CueCart 0.1.1 adds AAC audio playback — a free update for everyone on 0.1.0.
What's new
- AAC / .m4a support —
.m4a, .aac and .m4b files now load and play on
cue pads and the DJ deck, and import into the media library, right
alongside WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. On Windows this uses the
operating system's built-in AAC decoder, so there's nothing extra to install.
(Video containers such as .mp4 aren't supported — CueCart is audio-only.)
This is a free update. If you're already on 0.1.0, CueCart will offer it via the
in-app update check; you can also grab it from the download page.
